FEB 03 Marty Byars,
Marty is President of Byars Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
Founded in January, 2004.
 
He is past President of the Cumming Kiwanis Club and has been on the boards of Keep Forsyth County Beautiful, Leadership Forsyth, Sawnee Cultural Arts and the American Heart Association. In addition, Marty has served the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce as Ambassador of the Year in 2001, Chairman of the Ambassador Program in 2002 and Chairman of the Governmental Affairs Committee in 2005. He was the Deputy Coroner of Forsyth County in 2002 and 2003. Marty is currently Lieutenant Governor for Kiwanis International (Division 10 - Georgia), a member of the Johns Creek Rotary Club and on the Board of Directors of the Forsyth County Chamber of Commerce. He is an International Speaker for the Funeral Directors and Cemetery Association and was in the Men of Mortuary Calendar, 2007, featuring men around the United States in the funeral business to raise money for Breast Cancer, having raised 1.8 million dollars so far. Marty is married to Cindy and they have 3 children and have lived in Polo since March of 2005. Marty said he will make his talk fun and interesting, NOT morbid!!

AUG 02 Chuck Burnfield.
Delta Pilot, Flight Instructor and Brig. General, Retired, U.S. Air Force
 

Chuck was with Delta for 30 years where he was a Pilot on the Boeing 737-800 when he retired and today trains pilots on the 737-800, He served as Manager of Delta Pilot Training and was also Chief Pilot reporting to the VP of Flight Operations where he had 2700 pilots assigned to his group. He retired in 1998 as Brig. General in the U.S. Air Force as Commander of the North Carolina Air National Guard, headquartered in Charlotte, North Carolina. In the Air Force, Chuck flew the C130 for 30 years. He was commissioned in 1964 and joined the Air Force ROTC at Ohio University and got his MBA before finishing flight training in 1966-1967. Chuck and his wife Sandy have lived in Atlanta since 1973 and Chuck was a member of the Polo HOA during the transition from Fairgreen to a self-directed HOA.
